New novel coming June 2021

I’m so thrilled to announce that my next novel, The Cookbook of Common Prayer, will be published in spring 2021 by Allen & Unwin, in the UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada).

You can read the news of the acquisition in The Bookseller here (paywalled, but non-subscribers can view a few articles per month).

The official blurb and cover are still to come, but the novel is about family; grief and hope; the Tasmanian landscape; food; King Lear; silence; and how the most dangerous lies are those we tell ourselves.

The Cookbook of Common Prayer is a big departure from the fantasy/sci-fi trilogy that I’ve published previously, though it shares some of the same preoccupations (siblings; loss; landscape).

I can’t wait to share it with readers in 2021.
